Cradle of viticulture in France, Languedoc produces wines that have however suffered from a bad reputation for a long time. But excessive yields, ""Piquette"" and “vinegar wine” now belong to the past. Winemakers of Languedoc today are working with passion and care on quality grape varieties, on terroirs located in between mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

Enjoy a weekend getaway close to the Mediterranean beaches: take your car towards one of the many vineyards of Languedoc. On the road to Spain, from Carcassonne to Montpellier via Narbonne, Béziers and Sète, stroll among scrublands and discover the various terroirs of the area.

Red, rosé, white, sparkling or sweet, soak up the variety of wines produced in Languedoc! Get to know many grape varieties such as Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Chardonnay or Muscat. Visit vineyards and cellars, and taste some Languedoc wine in one of the many estates or cooperatives wineries of Corbières, Minervois, Limoux, Faugères, Saint-Chinian, or Coteaux-du-Languedoc!

The Abbey of Saint-Hilaire Benedictine monks were already producing it in the sixteenth century! After that, you will always be tempted to open a bottle of Blanquette de Limoux with black truffle dishes. Learn also how to pair the powerful and generous wines of Corbières, Minervois and Fitou with local food specialties like cassoulet.
